Page 14 As we were outside we took a quick trip around the motor home and in the state park but Ted, the camp host from Morro Bay, had given us some stuff to try and clean off the motor home. Well, I started to spray decided it needed to be cleaned. Well, you can’t WASH the motor home in the state park but Ted, the camp host from Morro Bay, had given us some stuff to try and clean off the motor home. Well, I started to spray and wipe. WOW this is a BIG motor home!! I could only go as high up as my arms would reach. We gave our 6 foot ladder to Steph and Brian. Could have used it today. Oh well, 5 foot plus about 1 ½ more feet up gots some of the crap from the trees off. Started out just doing the back, which was the worst, and ended up doing the WHOLE THING. When I got to the front I had found some wax that was left over from Carpinteria and the 87 Alfa last winter. Used the wax just on the front and now the whole motor home looks great. While I was washing the motor home Danny rigged up the squeegie and a big stick and washed the front windows. Yes, we did go thru the car wash yesterday but that just got some of the dirt to run off and left the rest to streak the walls and windows. The motor home looks really nice. Came in the house and made some lunch. Our regular tuna fish. Danny had a sandwich and I just added some tuna to a salad. Great lunch. During lunch we decided we needed to take a trip to Costco in Goleta. It is only 13 miles away. Danny said we needed to go today instead of tomorrow on our way to Carpinteria. So off we went. Didn’t need much except bread and coffee. Well, the Costco in Goleta is where we got hooked on buying the coffee beans and grinding them Their coffee has a great price. Bought a few pounds, got the bread, and sweet potatoes and a few other things. Our coffee pot is about to go out. One of the water heaters is out so it takes a long time to heat the coffee when we first make it. Have been looking at a new coffee pot, just couldn’t make myself buy one. If ours finally bites the dust I am going to be so mad at myself – oh well, guess we need to buy a coffee pot – so we did. It is a nice one and it grinds beans just before it drips so we don’t have to grind it at Costco. We will have full hook ups for the next 5 days and nights so we can use our coffee pot and not have instant coffee. Although I must say, Tasters Choice Decaf instant is really good. After Costco we came home and took a walk on the beach. We walked from our motor home site to the point. A long walk but it was so nice. A little chilly walking on the beach but we made it all the way to the point. At the point Danny climbed up some rocks to see the other side – hmm, just another beach. The tide was coming in so watching him try to time it just right to jump off the rock before the tide came in. He did pretty good – just got a little wet. On the way back we check out some great looking rocks and sea shells. Danny is so afraid we could end up like Lucy in the Long Trailer. I do love rocks and shells and driftwood. Ok, I didn’t find the perfect one so left them all on the beach. Tomorrow and the next day I will be on the look out for some beach glass in Carpinteria. Page 15 After our walk it was time for dinner. I try to get it done before it gets too dark. Without hook ups I hate to run the generator. It is just me being silly but I like to save the gas for driving down the road. All in all, it has been great being here in Refugio State Beach. Was a little concerned since we left such a great RV park in Buellton but this has been nice and quiet and relaxing. Gosh I love this lifestyle. It fits me perfect. Certainly doesn’t hurt having Danny with me! Gosh I love that guy! It is time to shut down and clean up the kitchen. It was over 11/2 hours ago that we finished dinner. Just found stuff to do on the computer and did lots of looking since the generator was on. Refugio State Beach is a great park to camp in. Ooops, almost forgot, this morning while we were on the beach having coffee we met a lady named Denise and her son Grey. They were from Colorado. She and her husband make jewelry and sold it, mostly in the summer so in the winter they take a month and come camping in Calif. She was such a nice lady. We also met one of the camp hosts from here. Didn’t talk much. They are parked on the other side of the creek. That is where we walked yesterday and found the great pinecones and the bark to put in our little box to make the motor home smell nice. It is now time for bed. Better close so tomorrow morning we can get up and ready to travel again. Not going but 30 miles but it is a different campground at a different location. We will be there 2 nights then on up the mountain to Lake Casitas. We have never been there camping before. It will be a new place for us. Looking forward to it. Goodnight. | Thur. Nov. 12, 2009 - Our Adventure Woke up to a beautiful morning here in Refugio State Beach. It was kind of overcast but no wind. About 7:30 am boiled some water for instant coffee and woke Danny up with an invitation to take his cup of coffee and walk to the beach with me. We put on our sweats and headed out. What a glorious site. This campground has so many palm trees surrounding it. Make you feel a little like you were in Hawaii, except for there are very few people here. We enjoyed the view, the coffee and each others company. After about 45 minutes of just soaking in mother nature we walked back to the motor home and I offered to make Danny’s favorite breakfast, biscuits and gravey. About 9 am we took our breakfast outside and enjoyed the breakfast and mother nature. The birds are chirping and the seagulls and making lots of noise. |
