We pulled into the Kiosk and there sat Melinda.  She didn’t even
recognize Danny.  When she finally realized who were she said she’d
be down to visit us later.  It is fun to see old friend.  Before we went to
our site #194 we had to dump since there was no dump station in
Refugio.

We pulled into our site.  Gosh, Danny can back this rig in so good.
Only took him twice.  He could have done it in one try but the people
next to us had their grill and the awning out and it made it very close
to get in the site.  Once they moved those Danny back this rig in like
he was driving forward.  It just amazes me sometimes.  I can’t back
anything for s#$%^.

As soon as we got the rig parked we had to go to Rite-Aid and get our
prescriptions filled.  That didn’t take long – we will go back tomorrow
and pick them up.  We were starved so off to Micky D’s we went.
Scarfed those burgers down.  Each time we go in to this Mickey D’s I
remember the first Christmas Eve away from my kids and grandkids.
We were here in Carpinteria and we had Christmas Eve dinner at
Mickey D’s.  Nothing compared to what I was use to with the kids.

After lunch we came back to our rig and decided that before we do
anything we had to go say hi to Art and Jeanine.  How great it was to
see them.  They are the best.   Love visiting with them.  They were
anxious to see our new rig.  After a short visit we came back to the rig
and set up.  Danny did a few of the things outside that needed to be
done and I put stuff away.  We are both getting better at setting up.

As soon as we got here and unhooked the car Danny said, “I don’t
know if I should tell you this or not”, and he held up the connection
that he had just fixed in Buellton. The part that was going to cost us
$200.00.  Well, it had dragged again. The part he fixed had to be fixed
again.  Learn from our mistakes.  That will be tied up around the hitch
from now on.
Art came over to see the rig.  Nice talking to him.  Loved being camp
hosts with them.

We had dinner, chicken, sweet potatoes and corn.  Easy to make and
tasty.  After dinner we went for a walk around the campground.  We
walked over to Santa Rosa and saw all the decorative lights.  It never
ceases to amaze me how much decorations and lights people put up
for just a couple of nights.  Then we walked back to the rig.

We bought a new coffee pot and I am trying to figure it out.  It is
suppose to grind beans and make coffee.  Can’t quit get it working.  It
keeps beeping – which means it isn’t  connected right.  Take a break
from it and rethink it.   I got it fixed now so we will have freshly ground
coffee in the morning.

We are so close to the water and we can hear the waves crashing on
shore.  This was a wonderful place to camp host.

Art and Jeanine said they were going to the desert about the same
time that we will be there.  Gosh it will be fun to see all of friends at
Quartzsite.  Looking forward to that time.  Kris Moore, another of the
camp hosts here stopped by and said she would be at Quartzsite too.

Well it is getting late and I need to get some sleep.  Didn’t sleep too
good last night.
All in all, the trip here was great.  I liked being able to ride “shotgun” in
the motor home instead of driving a car behind the motor home.  We
have actually gotten to travel together.  Love this lifestyle and think it
is getting better each day.    Goodnight.

We arrived here at
Carpinteria safe and
sound about 1:00pm.
The trip was great.
The motor home drove
wonderful.  It was a
sweet trip.  When we
took the exit to
Carpinteria Ave. it  felt
like we had arrived
home.   The view of the
ocean was incredible.
