| Mon. Nov. 16, 2009 – Happy Monday from Lake Casitas. What a great campground. It is so peaceful here. Had breakfast outside on the picnic table and enjoyed the sounds of the birds and mother nature. Wow, if the lake was up the waves would be lapping at the back of our motor home and Danny could fish from the bumper of the motor home! We did nothing this morning, just relaxed and enjoyed. After lunch we took a ride around the campground to see what else it had to offer. Had to keep Danny on track and remind him that the Nissan was not the Jeep! He truly wanted to go closer and closer to the water! Yikes! We did get very close to the water, thank goodness it was REALLY low. Watched the ducks and what looked like duck/swan mixed. Two, a couple we surmised, were sharing fish and seaweed. They were so fun to watch. They were watching out for each other. Page 18 As we drove around the camp ground we noticed how many Camp Hosts they have here. About 8 or 10. We might just have to look into being a camp host here. After our drive around the lake we came back and had a wonderful cup of coffee and read the RV Journal. Talked about some of the place and things we wanted to do when we were in the desert. Danny built a fire and we roasted hot dogs and I had made some veggie soup in the crock pot so we enjoyed dinner outside by the fire. We sat outside until it got too cold then came in the house. We did turn on the heater just to get it warmer in here. It did get cold last night. We have just enjoyed our time here together without being a camp host. We can just sit by the fire and enjoy it, not sell firewood or answer questions. Kind of hard to get use to but think I am on my way! It has been a great stay in Carpinteria and here but tomorrow we head for Camping World in Newhall, CA, where we are going to have an antenna put on the top of the motor home. Then we won’t have to carry the dish around and this one that they are installing will be – push a button and it finds the satellite. Boy that will be great when we travel and Danny doesn’t have to go out and wiggle and jiggle the dish to find the right spot. We will be in Newhall for two nights. We will be able to “dry” camp in the Camping World parking lot. That will save us a few bucks. Our appointment is Wed. at 1:30pm so we will just hang out in Newhall and the surrounding area for awhile. Of course, there is a WalMart there other places that are great just to walk around and maybe even get in the holiday spirit. I love this time of year and it is fun just to walk around in the stores looking at the Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations. Maybe even Lowes, Orchard, Home Depot are in the area and they have some great things to see. Oh, Lowes has stuff for my village. Well, I can just dream about them now and plan on the day when I settle down again and put up my village. Until tomorrow I say goodnight from beautiful Lake Casitas Lynda click on this link to see our page http://www.camphostcouple.com |
