| Fri. 20 Nov. 2009 - Today when we woke up it was COLD. The thermometer on our window said 48. That is cold. We ran the heater all night. Yesterday I put the flannel sheets on the bed and the down comforter. So glad I did. It kept us warm all night. What shall we do today. We drove to Santa Monica Pier. |
| Today we talked about our trip to the desert and our plans for the RV park in Boulder City. We decided to find an RV park in Las Vegas for 1 week and then we have decided to stay at Nellis AFB. They have space for a week also. Think it will be better. The RV Park in Las Vegas is for adults only. Should be nice. Atleast it sounded nice when the lady described it to me. I called Ben at Boulder City RV park and cancelled our reservations. Now we have 20 days from the time we leave Disneyland til we have to be in Las Vegas. That should leave us some time just to try places out. |
| From here we drove thru Malibu. What gorgous houses and views. If I ever win the lottery I found a lot right on the beach to buy!! I just snapped picture after picture. Hopefully one will turn out. We drove to Malibu RV Park, where we have reservations for 3 nights beginning on Sunday. Wow, it is a nice RV park and I think we will have a great view of the ocean. I think we are in Paradise and I believe they call it Malibu Beach, CA. WOW, what a great place. On to Santa Monica to the pier. Danny has wanted to go to this pier and ride the ferris wheel for so long. Well here we are!! It is a wee bit cool so grab our jackets and head to the pier. Wow the beach looks great. It has a hug beach. Goes back a long way from the ocean. We wonder on the pier, take pictures and try to decide what we want to eat. There is a Bubba Gump on the beach, but we will just wander and see what else we can find. We find a little place that has fish and chips. We find a table in the sun and have fish and chips on the Santa Monica Pier. How great is that. After we eat we wander to the end of the pier and check things out. Heading back we buy tickets to ride the ferris wheel. No lines, well it is a Friday afternoon in Nov. We board car #3 and off we go. I can do this, I road the gondola to Mammouth Mountain. Wow, it looks like we go right out over the water and then down and up again. Of course they stop it when we are at the very top to load another passenger. It was a ride. Danny took pictures, I prayed, and tried to look out. Oh, it is over and we get off. Think a hot cup of coffee is what I need. We sat at an outside table, drank our coffee and watched the “entertainers on the pier”. Some were really good but the ones in front of us, the “break dancers”, weren’t all that prepared to perform. All they did while we were there was practice. Ok, now it is time to walk on the beach. Walk down the ramp, take our shoes off and walk in the sand. It is chilly but there are still lots and lots of people on the beach and many more walking to the pier. |

| Cirque De Soile |
Well, lots of the people are going to Cirque De Soile. We thought about it but $45.00 per person was too much to spend when we are headed to Disneyland in a week. Next week at this time we will be visiting Mickey Mouse. Getting excited, think it will be a fun way to spend Thanksgiving. Page 21 It is now time to head back to the campground. We stop at a market and pick up some fresh fruit and veggies and head back. We are going to roast hot dogs for dinner. We only have a little wood left so it will be a small fire but enough to roast hot dogs. It is a little chilly so after we eat we wait for the fire to burn out and then it is time to come in the house and keep warm. Tomorrow we have decided to stay here close to the campground and just enjoy the area. We are going to go over to the beach for a little while. We will have to drive since it is too dangerous to cross PCH 1. The movie team has moved out of the day use area so we can go there and enjoy the beach. Wonder what movie they are making?
