| Nov. 22, 2009 – Up early but not too early. Can’t run the generator until 10am so we can make coffee. Today is our travel day. After we make coffee and have some cereal Danny drives to the dump station and cleans up the tanks and we are on our way. We hook up the car and pull out about 11:00am. Wow, PCH is a very busy road and so we just wait for the right time. We are on our way. Danny is such a good safe driver that we get on the highway just fine. The drive is gorgous. The ocean is calm and the waves are beautiful and the view of the huge houses is wonderful. We pull into Malibu RV Resort at 11:59am to find out that we have to leave and come back at 1:00pm. They don’t take any early arrivals. Well, now we have to go back down the hill and try to find someplace to hang out at and then turn this rig around. We go about 2 miles up PCH and pull off the road. Here we sit for about 20 minutes. I made Danny ½ of a pastrami sandwich to tide him over. The cars and Page 22 trucks are going by and make the motor home sway. OK, it is now about 12:30pm so Danny pulls onto the highway and he finally finds someplace big enough to turn around this rig around and we head back to the RV park. Good grief, we have to make a left hand turn off of PCH. We already did it safely about an hour ago and now we have to do it again!! YIKES! I know, I know, I said Danny was a good, safe driver but this is too much!!! |
the RV Park again. We check in and head for site #47. It is up the hill overlooking the ocean. WOW what a view. We get things settled in and we are now here. Danny has hooked up the water and the electric and the cable. We are now set for 3 nights. About 4pm we decided to try out the hot tub. We walk down the hill to the pool area. The hot tub is for adults only and we are the only ones in it. It is hot, bubbly and feels great. After 30 minutes we are done. We walk back up the hill to our site and get some warm clothes on. We are enjoying the view from the front window. This will be nice for 3 days and then we head to the big city. Tomorrow we are going to drive into Malibu and find a Chase Bank and then to Santa Monica to find a Union Bank. Gotta get some money before we go to Disneyland. A great night, we sat outside and enjoyed the view until it got just a little too chilly. Watching TV is a great idea for tonight. We can watch it until late, we don’t have to run the generator and obey the “quiet hours”. Time for bed so goodnight from “Paradise that is call Malibu”. This has been a fun trip so far.
