Wed. Nov.25, 2009 – WOW the day
has finally arrived. We will be heading to
Disneyland today. I can honestly say that I am a
little concerned. Not for any other reason except I
just hate driving/riding in traffic. We had a small
breakfast and packed the coach and off we go!!

It took us about an hour to get thru Santa Monica.
The traffic was slow and lots of it. At the Santa
Monica Pier it eased up and got thinner and off we
went. I hand the headphones on so I could follow
“FIONAS” direction on the computer GPS. She
doesn’t always tell us the way we want to go to I
have to listen very carefully. We get on I-5 and we
are headed to LA and all the traffic. Danny does a
heck of a great job driving in the traffic. It isn’t
easy to drive a car in the traffic but my goodness
this motor home is 30 feet long with a Nissan
Sentra attached. Wow, Danny just drove it like it
was a “Volkswagon Bug”. Ya right, well he drove it
just fine. We got to the RV Park and found it to be
a nice place. We are in site #18/19. Plenty of
room for the coach and the car. Danny hooked up
the water, electric, and sewer while I put stuff
where it all belongs. Only one little mishap along
the way. The new coffee pot tipped over and we
had many, many, many coffee beans all over. Got
them picked up, and things put away and we had
lunch. There was a great breeze but we ran the air
because when you are outside working it was hot.

Talked to Steph and they are stuck in traffic on the
5 on this side of the grapevine. She said lots and
lots of traffic. They showed up at the RV park
about 3pm. Nice to see them and so happy they
got here safe and sound.
We went and had pizza for dinner and then Ri and
Beau and Brian went swimming in the RV Park
pool. It is heated and felt good. They swam for
about ½ hour and then it was time to go to their
hotel. I rented one close to the RV Park so they
wouldn’t have to go far. Tomorrow we have
breakfast at 6am and go to the Ramada Maingate
so they can check in early and we can get to
Disneyland by 8am. WOW 8am to midnight. I am
waaaay too old for this kind of day and we are
going to do it twice. Oh well, I can keep up with the
best of them. They are all so excited, especially Ri
and Beau although Ri does miss Kyle and every
other topic from her is about Kyle. Young love is
so sweet.

Well, here it is 9pm and I am headed for bed. 4:
30am comes mighty soon and I do need to get
some sleep. Big day tomorrow. Carrie and her
husband and son will meet us at Disneyland
tomorrow. Should be great fun with all the
people. Sure do miss my Debbie, Mark, JT and
Daniel. It would be a great, GREAT Thanksgiving
if they were here with us. Maybe one day we can
all do this again.

Good night from Anaheim – Walt is making sure
our Thanksgiving with be happy since we are
going to visit the “Happiest Place” in the world. M-I-
C-K-E-Y MOUSE here we come!!! Goodnight.

Thanksgiving Day dinner is at 3pm at
the Rain Forest Café. There we meet
up with Carrie and Andre and have a
great 2 hour lunch and great company.
Steph even told the waitress that it was
Carrie and I’s birthday and they
brought us a Volcano Cake to
celebrate. Vanilla ice cream and
brownies and two candles. Thanks
Steph that was really sweet. They
leave to meet Carrie’s cousin and we
head off to more rides.

Steph called from the hotel and asked if they could
come early to have breakfast – instead of 6am they are
coming at 5AM. Lordy, Lordy, I have to get up and get
breakfast going.

Made biscuits, gravy, bacon and eggs for all of us and
now we are headed to Disneyland. YIPEE – the days
are finally here.

Steph had itinerary planned pretty good so that we
could ride lots of rides. We rode, Pirates of Caribbean,
and some others, then Splash Mountain. Oh my gosh,
50 foot drop and we are soaking wet. Can’t survive all
day like this so we leave Danny at the Park and Steph
and the kids go to the hotel to change and Brian brings
me to the rig to change. I have not got a dry spot on
my body. Danny only needed socks and shoes. We
head back to the park and ride our afternoon rides.

We are in Tomorrowland and we ride Space Mountain.
Brian and Beau stay away so Ri, Steph and Danny and
I take our turn. I know I have been on this ride before
but it was sure a lot worse this time. When we finished I
couldn’t even walk. WOW, it made me so sick. We
ended up coming home. Steph even let me ride in the
wheelchair to the hotel and Brian brought us to the rig.
Fireworks, I can’t even begin to look at fireworks. I take
medication and lay down and pray to fall asleep.

Danny enjoyed the fireworks from Disneyland. Here in
the RV Park we have a great view. Have been able to
enjoy them Wed. night and Danny enjoyed them again
Thursday night.

It was a great Thanksgiving Day at Disneyland until that
last ride. It is on my list of “I won’t do that again!”

Fri. Nov. 27, 2009 – Ok, we get to sleep
in! Steph and Brian and the kids get to go in early and
we are taking our time. I am feeling better but not real
good. Hopefully as the day wares on I will feel better.

We decide to go to Denny’s before we go into the park.
Scrambled eggs sounds good to me. We walk to the
shuttle stop and wait 20 minutes for the shuttle to come,
just as we see it, Danny remembers he forgot to take
his medication. Off we go back to the motor home. We
walk back to the shuttle stop and wait, not too long this
time and off we go.

We call Steph and have her meet us. We are in for our
last day at the magical place they call Disneyland.
They have promised me that we will go easy on the
rides today. No way can I go on any form of roller
coaster. Carrie and Andre are with us for a little while
and we enjoy California Adventure.

We all need to rest so we go to the hotel where Brian
and Steph are staying and take a break and have a
sandwich. Wow the rest did us all great. We are ready
to go now.

I just want to ride Small World and see snow. First we
watch the beautiful Christmas Parade, as only Walt
Disney could do it. All of the characters in their
Christmas finery and lights and great Christmas
decorations. Such an enjoyable parade. Now we are
off to Small World.

There will be a small wait. Oh well, we are in front of the
Castle and Ri knows something and drags me over
closer. Wow, the lights and the decorations and
SNOW!! How fun is this. I loved the snow. Thanks
Rileigh for making sure I got to have snow.

The ride thru Christmas Small World is great as usual
and now we are off and running again except we are
too tired to do any more. Home sounds so good. So we
say our good nights and head home for some good
nights sleep.

At 9:35pm here come the fireworks. Danny has to
video them and I am sure they are different than usual
so I have to go out and watch. They are spectacular
from where we are. Great way to top off an incredible
night.
