Fri. Dec. 11  2009 – Today we got up early and
went to the Club House for breakfast.  They started
serving at 8am and that was when we got there.  They
served biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee,
juice and the cost was $3.50 for a full order and $2.50
for half order.  We paid $6.00 for both of us to eat
breakfast.  No too bad and it was tasty.  After that we
went to the sales office and attended a seminar.  We
enjoyed talking with the saleslady but declined to
purchase the membership.  Just out of our money
range right now.

We came back to the motor home and picked up my
purse and the camera and headed out to see the
sights.  Drove towards Parker Dam.  My gosh there are
lots and lots of  RV parks along the Colorado River.
On our way we say 7 burros along the side of the road,
a roadrunner and lots of red rock.  We got to Parker
Dam and what a pretty site it is.  It has 5 spillways and
lots of concrete.  It is the deepest dame built.  The
water isn’t deep, about 50 feet, but the dam goes down
300 feet or so.  Talked to a security guard and Danny
asked him all sorts of questions.  It looked like a
miniature of Chief Joseph Dam, where I grew up.

Off again to see more sights.  We went thru a little town
and then there was a Casino.  The sign read “Blue
Water Casino”. We decided to go in and sign up for the
casino, play with their money and have lunch, if they
serve it.  Well, they did serve lunch so we ate the
buffet.  Since it is Friday they had fish, shrimp, rice,
potatoes, gravy with everything to make a great salad
and apple cobbler, lemon cake, white cake and
chocolate cake.  We ate our fill and boy were we full.

Went back to the Casino and they gave us our $’s and
we left.  It was a little too smokey in there but it looked
like a fun place to put a few coins.  Next time.

We drove into Parker, AZ to the WalMart to get Danny’
s fishing license stamped and buy a couple of
Christmas presents.  Well, we got the presents and
forgot the stamp until we were out of town and drove
across the Colorado River.  We could have driven back
but decided against it right now, we can do it
tomorrow.  Have to drive to Ehrenberg tomorrow and
take care of a couple of things.

When we started out it was so very cold and by the
time we got back to the RV park it was really nice.  The
river is gorgous to see out of our front window.

All in all it was a nice day and we weren’t in a hurry to
get anywhere so actually we just mozied down the road.

We only have 2 more nights here and then we are off
again.  Think we might meet up with some Camp Host
friends of ours and do some dry camping – just 2
nights!  I like the resort life!!!

Goodnight from beautiful Emerald Cove Resort in
California.  Just a little information – even though it is
California this area goes by Arizona time!!! Go figure.
