Mon. Dec 14, 2009 – We were going to get up
and go to a casino and have the $1.99 breakfast.
Sounded good last night.  We didn’t make it.  I was so
very tired this morning and just couldn’t get up early.
WOW, don’t have to get up early if I don’t want too!!

We had some scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast,
emptied the trash, picked up the motor home and headed
to Oatman, AZ.

Oatman is a Ghost Town but it is a working Ghost Town.
They have working restaurants and shops and historical
buildings  Some still standing and some not.  What a fun
town.  The wild burros own the main street.  When they
see somebody drive up and park they head for that car to
see if someone brought them food.  We didn’t bring  food
so we weren’s their friends and they weren’t happy with
us.

We walked up the street on the wooden sidewalks and
looked in the stores and took many many pictures of the
burros.  At 2:15pm the Wild West Show began.  3
cowboys had a gunfight out on the main street.  It was fun
and they really appeared to be REAL  COWBOYS,  It was
a fun show to watch.  They are Shriners and the money
they collect goes to the Shriners Hospital for the
children.  Great cause.

We went into Olivia Oatman’s café and had lunch. She is
the one who the town of  Oatman is named for.  When
she was very young her parents were killed by Indians
and her brother was thrown over a cliff and her and her
sister were taken to live among the Indians.  Her brother
recovered and he went looking for his sisters.  One sister
died from an illness but Olivia survived.  Her brother
found her and she was set free from the Indian people
she lived with.  After her death her brother fought to get
the towns name changed to Oatman – he succeeded.  It
is just  an old building with an historical feel and good
food.  Danny had homemade chile and fries and I had
Phlly Cheesesteak and decafe coffee, we were so cold
from standing outside watching the show we needed the
hot coffee.. The waiter apologized because the decafe
coffee was instant.  Oh well, it tasted pretty good and it
was hot.

After lunch we walked up and back down the street and
just looked in the stores.  Got to the car and headed out.
We went a few miles on “Old Route 66” towards
Kingman.  Can’t believe Tom and I traveled part of that
road to Oklahoma and back.  That was years ago in the
late 60’s.  We turned around up by the mine and came
back to Bullhead City.

We decided not to come home and go over to Laughlin
and drag the main road and see all the lights.  Well,we
ended up going into a couple of Casinos just to see
them.  After we left the Casinos we just drove around and
found where they sell propane and where the motor
homes and  5th wheels and travel trailers park in the
casino parking lots.  If we can’t extend 2 nights here we
will just go and dry camp in the parking lots.  Another
experience!

What a wonderful and enjoyable day we had.  We weren’t
in any rush because we didn’t have to be back at the RV
Resort at any specific time.  We just enjoyed each others
company and the sights and sounds of Arizona and
Nevada.

Looks like tomorrow we will stay at the Resort and do
laundry and clean out the car and get rid of stuff we don’t
need in the motor home.  We keep getting rid of stuff that
we don’t need, and I thought we needed everything!!!!  I
am sure the only thing I didn’t

bring when we started this RVers life was an extra kitchen
sink!! Oh well, this is learn as I go!

After such a wonderful day I am tired and so will say
goodnight from beautiful Bullhead City, Az.
