The sign says they only have 4,853 butterflies today.  Danny was here in 90-91
when they had over 200,000.  We have taken lots of pictures and hope some
came out.

Packed up and ready to go to Oceano.  We are able to dump the tanks right  here
in North Beach and head our 5 miles to Oceano.  We have camped there before
in the Alfa this last summer with Brad and Mary as we were headed to Morro Bay.
It is a nice campground.

We have reservations at site #18, the handicap site.  As we pull in someone else
is in the site.  Oh well, we find site #17 empty and take that.  Once we are
temporarily set up we walk to the beach.  It isn’t that far and feels good to walk.
The tide is out so we walk down to the water.  Danny has his shoes on so we don’t
get in the water.  Walk a little ways then up to the sand and the picnic table.  We
sat on the picnic table for about 20 minutes watching campers coming on to the
beach.  Last year when  we were camp hosts here at Pismo, sitting on the beach
watching camper getting on the beach was one of my favorite things to do. On the
way back from the beach we stop at the Camp Host and let them know the
situation with campsite #18.  Their names are Lavonne and John and this is their
first week.  They arrived here from Arizona.  No problem, we will just sit in site #17
until we need to move.  We do like this site.  Our front window faces the creek and
we have a big tree making us some great shade.  Tomorrow when we go to the
Kiosk we will ask if we can stay in site #17.

We have just a light lunch and dinner.  My stomach is still really upset.  Danny is
such a sweetheart.  He just makes do with whatever I can muster up for him to
eat.  We are truly soul mates.  Love, understanding and respect – that is what it is
all about.

We sat outside until it got a little chilly then came in the motor home.  Don’t have
TV tonight.  Too much trouble to hook it up if we have to move tomorrow.  Oh well,
we have done without TV for the 2 nights at North Beach and survived.  We have
the radio and both Danny and I still remember the days when the radio was IT –
no TV, no computers.  Hasn’t hurt us the last couple of days.

Going to work a little on my Farm Town and go to bed.

All in all it has been a nice, slow, relaxing day.  Gosh I love this lifestyle.

What a beautiful day here in Pismo Beach.
Today we are moving to Oceano Campgrounds
here in Pismo Beach.  Not far to travel, 5 miles,
but there we will have water and electric.  We did
OK dry camping.  I think I will be fine dry camping
in the desert.  Sitting outside in the sun enjoying
our coffee.  It is quiet and peaceful, and you can
hear to ocean roar.  It is a great sound.  Think I
really will miss that sound when we head to the
desert.
It is 9am and we walked over
to the Butterfly Grove.
The Docent Susan talked to us about
the habitat of the butterflies.  It seems
that Pismo Beach is their last stop
before they head north again.  The
female butterflies will mate then find
milkweed to lay their eggs in and then
they die.  Total lifespan is 6 weeks.  So
each year when the butterflies come
back to Pismo Beach it is the 5th or 6th
generation .WOW, that was interesting.
We also took some pictures thru
the telescope that are pointed
directly at the butterflies.  Hope
some of those turn out.
