| Tue. Dec. 29, 2009 – Boy, the year has gone by so fast. Just can’t believe it is the end of Dec. already This morning about 11am we decided to take a drive around Pahrump. We headed for a town by the name of Crystal. It is 25 miles from where we are, out in the desert. We came upon the turn towards Crystal very quickly and there it was. It is an area in the Page 52 middle of the desert miles from anything. We drove around and took many pictures. It has a Brothel Museum, Casino and information center and a sign that said “Under construction please go to the Brothel down the road”. After taking some pictures we drove to the Brothel down the road. It was Madam Butterflys Cherry Creek Ranch. Not many cars there right now. We took pictures of the main house and the other mobil houses in the back. To go into the museum you had to ring the bell and then they buzzed you in. We decided not to go to the museum. It was an adventure. We drove up and down the streets of Crystal and there are quite a few “Brothels” out there in the middle of the desert. Interesting trip. We came back to town and on our way I got a phone call from our friend Bev in Idaho and she said she had Sue and Rod’s phone number and address here in Pahrump. She gave them to me and we talked a bit and then Jim got on the phone and we talked for a bit. Promised him that we would stop at their house when we came thru Idaho this coming summer. After I hung up from talking to Bev I gave Sue a call. Once she realized who I was we talked, when she asked me where we were and I told her we were in Pahrump she invited us to come to their house. She was going to give me directions but when she asked me where we were and I said we were in the WalMart parking lot she said she was in WalMart. We went in and found her. It was so nice to see her. She invited us to come out to their place and have dinner. She gave us directions and she checked out and Danny and I picked up the two things we needed. Took our stuff home and headed for Sue and Rods. It wasn’t hard to find and we pulled in and they were outside with their dog, Riley. It was fun to see them. We toured their house and shop and talked and talked. We ate dinner with them and just visited and visited. Had a wonderful time and certainly enjoyed them. They are probably going to be down in Quartzsite about the same time we are so we will meet up. It should be fun down in Quartzsite, so many of our friends are going to be there during the same time that we are. Looking forward to seeing Quartzsite. About 8pm we said our goodbyes and see you in Quartzsite and headed back to the motor home. We have to get ready to move out tomorrow morning. Once we got home I packed away the Christmas decorations we had in the front window and put stuff in the car and got partially ready to leave. Tomorrow morning it should be pretty easy to pack up the stuff that is left. Danny has to take care of the tanks, check the motor home oil and stuff and take off the wheel covers then we hook up the car and head to Las Vegas for 3 nights. Looking forward to our trip and our New Years Eve in Las Vegas. It is cold here again tonight. I need to get where it is a little bit warmer. Hopefully Las Vegas will be warmer, especially at night. We are going to “run a muck” for a couple of nights in Las Vegas. Danny has never been on the tour of Hoover Dam so really want to do that and see the lazer light show downtown Las Vegas. Not there very long so have to pick and choose what we are going to do. Page 53 Our 3 nights is going to go fast especially since we will be in the mist of people on New Years Eve. Well, you have to do some adventurous things once in your life. Talked to Stephanie and she said the Rileigh is going to Merced and will be spending a week with Kyle and his family. Steph said she talked to Kyle’s dad and Kyle’s whole family just love Ri. What’s not to love, she is a wonderful young lady and I am proud to be here Gma. JT, Daniel, Debbie and Mark went sleigh riding up at Sierra. Deb emailed me to pull up the Visalia Times Delta because the boys pictures were in the paper. I did and sure enough there was two pictures of the boys. They looked like they were really having a great time. Talked to Steph and she said that Beau used his Christmas money to buy a WII game. Glad they are enjoying it. It is always so nice to give a gift that people like and enjoy. Well time to get some sleep so that we can be wide eyed tomorrow morning when we get ready to leave. We have enjoyed our stay here in Pahrump. Sue and Rod told us that we could come back anytime and stay at their house. That was a very nice invitation. May one day take them up on it. It is so nice to have good friends. Goodnight one last time from Pahrump, Nevada. Lynda click on this link to see our page http://www.camphostcouple.com |
