Tue. Jan 5, 2010 - When
we woke up this morning it was
beautiful. We pulled up the shades
and enjoyed the view of the hills and
desert and sunrise.  We just relaxed all
morning and enjoyed the desert.  It
was hard to leave and we thought
about calling the RV Park in Salome
and saying we would be a day late but
then we decided we had better get
going.  Hard to leave that beautiful
camp site.

We drove from Lake Havasu to Parker.
We parked in the WalMart parking lot
and tood a break.  We went in and
bought some veggies.  It is a big store.
We left and went to the motor home
and made lunch and ate it in the
parking lot of WalMart.  Just enjoyed
the break and relaxing lunch.

Page 60

Well, we picked up our dishes and
headed out for Salome. In order to get
to Salome we had travel a back 2 lane
road.  We saw some great sights, small
towns that were just a spot in the road
and many, many RV parks. It was
amazing how many RV parks we
passed.  They were just side by side
by side.

Here we are in Salome.  Well, we are
outside of Salome about 2 miles.  The
RV park is just a regular RV park in the
desert.  It does have a miniature golf
course, club house, heated pool and
spa and no trees.  We will be able to
check out the area and the park a little
better tomorrow.

We are set up, had dinner, and Danny
hooked up the satellite dish so we are
watching a little TV before bed.

All is well here in the desert.  It is a
starry, clear night.

Goodnight from Salome in the desert
of Arizona.

Wed. Jan 6, 2010 -
Today was one of those days that you
just want to stay put and laze around.
Well, that didn’t work – we had to go to
Blythe to pick up our prescriptions,
then we looked around Quartzsite to
see if we could find a place we wanted
to stay for 14 nights dry camping and
could find a Chase bank and put
money in our account.  We left about
11am and finally got back to the motor
home about 7pm.  It was a long day
but we did get lots done that we
needed to do and hopefully tomorrow
we just get to laze around.  We might
go to Salome and see what the town is
like but that is it!  I want to enjoy being
soaking up some of this desert sun.

We found about 3 or 4 places in
Quartzsite to camp.  One is  south of
Quartzsite where our friends Fred and
Audrey took us.  It costs to stay there,
about $40.00 for 2 weeks but they
have a dump station and water.
Another place is at highway marker
112  called High Jolly, where our
friends Sue and Rod are suppose to
be and the other in on Palosa Rd
where our friends Ted and Mimi said
they liked to be.  Any one of them are
fine so we will just see what is available
when we get there on Sat.

Quartzsite is full and I mean full of  RVs
parked everywhere in the desert.
From what I understand there are
more to come.  We will go into the
shopping section of Quartzsite when
we camp there to find an oven rack for
the RV and two walking sticks.  We saw
them when we were here a month
ago.  Found a couple that we liked.  It
will be fun to just walk around and see
what is there.  Looking forward to
being in Quartzsite.

Well, not much else about today – just
a busy day and we did get stuff done
that we needed to do.

Good night from the desert town of
Salome, AZ.

Thur. Jan. 7, 2010
Happy Thursday from Salome, Az.
Today was one of those days that we
just didn’t do much.  We had to find a
post office in Salome and that was it.

About 8:30am we took a walk around
the campground just to see what there
is.  We found the miniature golf and
they had clubs and balls right there so
we played a little.  It was fun and a
couple of times I did really well but
most of all it took me 5 to 10 strokes to
get my golf ball in the hole.  Gosh,
when we settle down we can build one
of these in our yard!  Someone had
made miniature houses and barns
throughout the golf course.  It was fun
to be there.

We drove about 4 miles east of here
and found the town of Salome, AZ. And
a post office.  The town is really, really
small and pretty old.  It was fun to drive
around and see the area.  There are
more RV resorts than houses.  It didn’t
take us long to drive around so we
headed for another town called
Winton, Az.  It is even smaller than
Salome, Az, and it too has more RV
resorts than houses.

We did find an area that sold ½ acre
plots for RVs.  It was really nice and
the lots are large.  If we were going to
settle down that would be where we
would look.  But, we are still enjoying
the travel and not ready to settle down
yet.

When we got back I sat outside and
soaked up some desert sun rays and
read my book.  That was so nice.  My
knee started hurting so came in and
put the heating pad on it.

My knee is really hurting so am still
sitting tonight with the heating pad on
my knee.  Just want it to feel better.
The heat seems to take the edge off –
thank goodness.

Must do the dishes before it gets too
late so will say goodnight from Desert
Vista RV Resort, Salome, Az.

Friday, Jan. 8, 2010
This is one of those days when you
just don’t know what the heck you have
done the whole day.

We did go and do laundry.  Had to get
that finished before we leave for the
desert tomorrow.  While at the laundry
we met two couples from Washington.
It is such a small world.  One couple
was from Othell and the other was from
East Wenatchee.  As we talked we
found out that we were all in Pahrump
and Bullhead City at the same time!
They were headed to Ehrenberg about
the same week that we will be there.
Enjoyed the visit.

After laundry we decided to take a ride
to Salome.  It is a very small stop in the
road but there are lots and lots of RV
parks around and some parks where
you buy the land and put your RV
there. We enjoyed seeing all of the RV
resorts.  We went into all of those that
we could and just drove around.

We came back to the motor home and
got ready to move out to the desert in
the morning.

Page 62

Goodnight from Salome, AZ.
Sat. Jan. 9, 2010 – We
are preparing the motor home to leave
Desert Vista RV Resort in Salome, Az.

Today we are headed to Quartzsite,
AZ. Where the Big Sales, Gem & Rock
and Craft show is.  We have decided
to spend some nights in the “real”
desert and dry camp. Every since I
have known Danny he has told me
about wanting to go to Quartzsite, AZ
in Jan. and I had heard about it from
some other people  We are headed
there and I am going to see what it is
all about

We have experienced dry camping for
3 nights in Pt. Magu State Park, CA.
We did fine and the motor home did
fine for those 3 nights but I was ready
for someplace with full hookups after 3
nights.  We are planning to stay in the
desert at least 5 nights before we go to
an RV park with hookups.

As we travel west on AZ State hwy 60,
headed to West I-10 the scenery is just
plain desert.  Lots of sand, tumble
weeds, dead bushes and tall barrel
cactus.  It is really beautiful and
interesting.  I love all those cactus with
their many different shapes and sizes.
Some barrels are so straight up and
down and others have  growths that
look like arms bent up at the elbow.
The desert is a wonderful look at
Mother Nature in a different vain, no
green trees or grass but beautiful in its
own way.
The roads are pretty good and
smooth.  Highway 60 is only a 2 lane
road.

We’re now on I-10 headed to
Quartzsite.  Danny has found a BLM
area for us to camp at.  It is called
Scaddan Wash. It is an area about 2
miles outside of Quartzsite with hard
packed ground.  We drive out over a
couple of “washes” and find just the
perfect place to camp.  It has a desert
tree and everything.  There are other
Rvers around but not real close.  It is
nice to have all this area to chose from
and find a “private” place.  To explain
where we are – we are at the 2nd right
turn – across 3 washes to the left!
How are those directions.
Furthermore, from Quartzsite you go to
the big church at the corner and turn
left on the next main road!

We set up camp, well, Danny unhooks
the car, sets up the satellite and puts
out the green carpet and the two
chairs.  I on the other hand put out the
counter stuff and the re- hang the
clocks and make lunch – WE ARE
HERE!
Tonight we just watched a little TV
using the generator and called it a
night.

Sun. Jan 10, 2010 – Saw the sun come
up over the mountain in front of us.  It
was a beautiful sight.

Page 63

Today we are going into Quartzsite
and see what all the fuss is about and
what everyone is talking about.  There
are lots and lots or RV’s all around.
Tried to turn on the generator to make
coffee and no deal.  Not a sound
comes from the generator like it might
be going to work, just a whine.
Crap!!!  Seems like one day I get
$1.00 a head and the next day I am
$5.00 behind!!

We ate breakfast the spent over an
hour on the phone trying to get
someone at the “Good Sam” insurance
section but they are closed on
Sunday.  Boy, I will be up early Monday
morning and calling them to find out
what kind of coverage we have on the
generator.

We head into Quartzsite.  We are NOT
going to let this generator thing stop
our adventure.  Everywhere you look
there are “tent EZ ups” with old and
new stuff.  We are looking for an
antique, a jar opener that goes under
the counter and helps open different
sizes of jars.  We had one in the Alfa
and Deb loved it and so we are on a
mission to see if we can find one.  The
one in the Alfa went with it. That was
another thing I should have
remembered to take out – oh well!  I
am also looking for some silverware.  I
am tired of plastic forks that keep on
breaking.  There is so much to look at
– some of it is junk but most is worth
looking at.

When we left the “shopping” area we
found a “RV repair place.  Just going
to ask how much it might cost to fix the
generator.  We met Kathy, Dan (the
owner from Madera) and Jeremiah.
Danny explained our problem and
Jeremiah said he would be out to our
campsite and see what was wrong.  He
would be there Monday about 10am.
Everyone was so nice and friendly –
small town friendly.

We came home and had dinner by
candlelight outside.  It was so nice.
We cam in, did dishes and by now its
was 7:30pm and dark with nothing to
do so we went to bed and played
cards.  I won most of the games, for a
change.  We talked for a couple of
hours and then off to sleep.

Goodnight from the dark desert.
Monday, Jan. 11,
2010
– It is 8am and I am on the
phone to Good Sam.  Finally got to the
customer service area and the
generator is covered with $250.00
deductible and the guy said he was
sure it would be quit a bit more than
$250.00. CRAP.

It is about 10am and Jeremiah called to
find out how to get where we are.
Danny went to meet him and bring him
here.

Yup, it is the generator starter.  Thank
goodness that was all that it was cuz
from what I have been told it could
have been REALLY BAD.  Jeremiah
said he needed to go to the office to
get a quote on the parts.  He came
back about an hour later and said
$365.00.

Page 64

Well we have to have it done so we
scheduled an appointment for
tomorrow morning to have it all done.

After we got the quote we headed for
downtown Quartzsite.  Just found an
area that we hadn’t seen yet so we
walked around  the tents and saw so
much stuff.  We did by two walking
sticks and two other things for the
motor home.  Still haven’t found my
“oven rack” yet.  Gosh I really hope I
find one.

When we got back to the motor home it
was dark and we just locked up and
went to bed.  Boy, I will be glad when
we get the generator and we can have
lights and don’t have to go to bed at 7:
30pm!

Goodnight from the desert!!

Tue. Jan. 12, 2010
Jeremiah called and asked if he could
come fix the generator early.  Of
course we told him yes – we are ready
for him to fix it.  He got here about
10am and by 11:30am he was done.
He turned on the generator and it
worked.  GREAT!!  Things are looking
up out here in the desert.

After he left we had to go to Blythe, 30
miles away, and put some money in
the bank to pay for this generator.  It
was a nice trip.  After the bank it was
time for lunch so we went to Sizzler and
got the Senior Chicken meal.  We just
took our time, had a great waitress,
and enjoyed the relaxation.

While standing in line, waiting for
Danny, I met a gentleman from Lake
Havasu.  He and  his son came all the
way to Blythe to have a steak at
Sizzler.  It was fun talking to him.

We came back to Quartzsite and
stopped and bought some wood for a
small campfire tonight.

Got back to the motor home and built a
little fire in our little fire ring.  It was so
nice just to sit outside.  A camper and
his wife from a site in front of us
stopped by and visited for about an
hour.

After they left we came in the house
and turned on TV and the computers!
How fun is this!  We both worked on
our Farmville and FarmTowns and just
enjoyed electricity!

Time to call it a night from the desert in
Quartzsite.

Wed. Jan. 13, 2010
Today we were able to use our coffee
maker and make real coffee.  We have
been using the “camping” coffee pot
on the stove and it worked fine but I do
enjoy the electric coffee maker.  Just
knowing I can use it is great!

Page 65

After breakfast Audrey and Fred called
and wanted us to meet them at LA
MESA RV

Sales for lunch.  Everyday they serve
breakfast and lunch.  So we headed
into town to go to the solar dealership
and ask questions and then also we
wanted to talk the Jeremiah about a
sound we heard in the generator.
Turned out to be OK so off we head to
learn about solar.

Many, many people in the shop buying
solar panels.  That is the only way to
camp in the desert.  Next year we will
have solar put on the motor home.
Danny did get to ask questions and
learn about it so that was nice.

We went to La Mesa and stood in line
for lunch.  There were lots and lots of
people there.  Why not, it was free
lunch!  The line moved smoothly and
we got our spaghetti, salad and bread
and drink and got a table and enjoyed
the company.

After we finished lunch, Audrey and
Fred went back to their motor home
and we wandered thru the motor
homes that were for sale.  We don’t
want to buy one we just wanted to get
some ideas of how they are laid out so
we can remodel ours.  Got some great
ideas and found the chairs I want to
put in ours.  Wish we would get it all
done now but will have to go about it
slow and steady.  One step at a time!

We went to McDonalds and had dinner
and came home.  The wind is blowing
really hard so we had to pick up our
chairs and table that was outside.  We
were going to have a campfire but the
wind nixed that.

Tomorrow we are headed for
Ehrenberg for 2 nights.  We will just do
laundry, recharge our batteries and
dump and on Sat. we will head back
out here to the desert for 5 more
nights.  Seems that on 16 Jan. the BIG
sale begins so we are looking forward
to that.  We will see what happens.

The motor home is rockin and rollin
with the wind and we have run the
generator long enough so will say
goodnight from the windy desert in
Quartzsite, AZ.

Thurs. Jan. 14, 2010
Happy Birthday Mom! Today I am
remembering the most fun birthday
party ever given to my mom 9 years
ago.  It was so fun to surprise her and
especially to be able to surprise her
with all of her kids here and she didn’t
even know! Dinner at Cattleman’s was
great and the friends and family were
awesome!  Great memories!

Today is moving day.  After we got up
we started packing the rig for our move
to the Colorado River Oasis in
Ehrenberg, Az.  Boy the wind blew
hard last night.  “Goober” my little
flying bird flew away in the wind.  He is
now somewhere out in the desert.
Guess I will have to find another one in
Quartzsite or go back to Morro Bay to
the Kite Shop.

Page 66

We got everything put away and we
are off.  As we leave our great
camping site there are more and more
motor homes, trailers, and 5th wheels
coming in.  I am sure one of them will
take our great spot and when we come
back on Sat. we will have to drive
around and find “the perfect spot”.

It is only 17 miles from Quartzsite to
Ehrenberg so not a long move.  We
got here about 12noon and the wind is
blowing really hard here too.  We
checked in and got our site
assignment #33.  Danny gets the
outside stuff done like hooking up the
sewer, water and electric and cable
and I put away the stuff that I put in the
laundry basket when we move.  The
coach is put back to “normal” and it is
time for lunch.  Tuna sandwich, chips
and green olives.

After lunch we walked to the laundry
room and got it all done.  We had 3
washers and 4 dryers.  It feels good to
have it done.  Now we can relax
tomorrow and enjoy the resort.

Tonight we are on the computers.  It is
nice to have electric and lights and
water and not worry that we will run the
generator too long.  Dry camping is fun
and nice but having hookups is
GREAT!  Will miss them for 5 days
when we go to the desert again for 5
days.

Working on the computer and catching
up on email and stuff and watching TV.
An uneventful day, I like those kind of
days!!

Goodnight from Colorado River Oasis,
Ehrenberg, AZ

Sat. Jan. 16, 2010 – On
our way again!!  After getting up late
and taking our time making our rig
ready to travel we are off towards
Quartzsite, AZ again.  As we hit the
freeway we encounter many many RVs
headed towards Quartzsite.

As we crest the hill between Ehrenberg
and Quartzsite we see nothing but the
white tops of  thousands of motor
homes. Some of the motor homes are
in RV parks and many more

Page 67

are in the desert.  We have decided
that we need to check out Scaddan
Wash and see if there are any spaces
left.  We really like the location and the
area.

Here we are at Scaddan Wash and
there are lots more RV’s here
compared to when we left.  Oh my
gosh, our place is still available.  There
is a 5th wheel in front of us and a
travel trailer beside us but we still have
plenty of room.  Danny parks the rig
and we begin to set up.  We will be
here for 4 days

After lunch Danny has decided he
wanted to drive around and see the
rigs and where everyone is camping
at.  It is a fund drive around and we
are back to our rig..

It is beautiful and kind of hot so after
we set up we just sat outside and
enjoyed the sun.  After the sun went
down it got a little cool so we came in a
had dinner and watched a little TV,
news and weather.

About 7pm I stepped outside to look at
the stars and there is no wind and it is
gorgous outside so I decided it would
be great to sit outside and enjoy the
beautiful stars.  Danny joined me and
started a campfire with the few pieces
of wood we have left.  It is a nice fire
and it burns until 9:30pm.  We enjoyed
the great weather and fire.

Time to come in and go to bed.
Goodnight from the desert in
Quartzsite.

Sun. Jan. 17, 2010-
When we got up this moring we
decided that after breakfast we would
take a trip “downtown” to the “big tent”
and see what was going on.

Oh my gosh, cars, cars and more cars
and people.  We did find a parking
place and didn’t have to walk too far.
We looked at motor homes and then
went to the “big tent”.  Every kind of
vendor was there from selling
choppers, knives, satellite dishes, and
anything else you might want for your
RV.  We did walk around to each
vendor and bought a “walking cane
chair” for Danny – now he has no
excuse not to walk with me!  There was
so much stuff, beads, jewelry, and
cooking pots and pans and other stuff.

It smelled so good walking around.
You know there is nothing better than
the smell of  stuff cooking outside, no
matter what it is.  We looked at a
couple more motor homes and then
headed towards the car to come home
and get lunch.  Still cars everywhere
but we got our car and got out of the
parking lot and home without incident.

Oh it is great to be home and have
chile and hot dogs for lunch and relax.
Danny turned on the generator so we
could run the air conditioner and the
TV.  Just going to enjoy the rest of the
day.  Tomorrow we have to drive to
Parker, AZ.  I sure do hope it doesn’t
rain.

I am going to go outside and enjoy the
rest of the day before it gets cold.
Goodnight again from Quartzsite, AZ.

Page 68

Mon. Jan. 18, 2010 –
Gosh it is raining and we have to drive
to Parker.  It isn’t that far, only 40
miles, but it is just a pain.  Oh well, we
have to go.

When we get to Parker the bank ATM
is jammed up and I can’t make a
deposit and that is what we drove to
Parker for.  Oh well, we have to go to
WalMart anyway so I will just buy some
envelopes and put my deposit in the
“night deposit” drop.

We stopped at Taco Bell to get some
lunch.  As we know, it is not my favorite
place but I can eat there once in
awhile.  AFTER we ordered we found
out they were out of  diet pepsi and
mild sauce.  The food tasted awful so I
think we will put Taco Bell on the back
burner before we eat there again.

We went to WalMart and got the power
inverter that we needed so that we
could watch TV when we aren’t
plugged into electric and we can also
work on the computers.  Will keep from
using the house batteries and
definitely not use the motor home
battery.   We just enjoy some of the
luxuries of living in the motor home
even when we are dry camping.

Ok, we get the deposit make and head
for home before the big storm comes.
The wind is blowing pretty good.

We are home and Danny has set up
the new inverter and we can get on the
computers and we get to watch a little
TV.

Enjoying the good life!  Goodnight
from Quartzsite.

Tue. Jan. 19, 2010 – Up
and running off to the BIG TENT
again.  There were a couple of things
Danny found that he thought about for
2 days and decided we really needed
to get them and we wanted to join
Passport America.  We found a
parking place, yipeeeee, and we are
off.  It is a little walk and not many
people so we get to take our time and
look around.

There are lots of people in the BIG
TENT but not as many as there was a
couple of days ago.  We are able to
walk around and just look and enjoy it.
We got to the back wall where the
hose connections that Danny wanted
are.  We purchase those and then
head for the “chocolate” booth.  The
hot cocoa was so good the other day, I
am sure it will taste even better this
morning. MMMMM we found the booth
and the chocolate.  The hot white
chocolate is my favorite and Danny
has agreed with me.  The  salesman
asked if we want  chocolate martini and
of course, I am going to try it.  It is
made with “sipping cocoa, Baileys and
Vodka.  It is really good.  Danny doesn’
t like his so I drink his too and I feel a
little buzz, not sure if it is because of
the drink, or because it is early in the
morning and I haven’t had anything to
eat but I will make one of these at
home.

Page 69

We have walked over to see Jerry at
the Passport America booth.  His wife
is there with him so we visit with them.
They are a great couple.  The other
day Danny gave Jerry one of our cards
and Jerry said he had gone to our web
site.  We joined Passport America, it
was a good deal for a year and will
give us some other campgrounds to
use when we travel.  Jerry and his wife
are going to be camp hosts up in
Columbia, CA.  He was a DJ for many,
many years so they are in charge of
the social part of the RV park.  Boy, it
would be fun to be there but he will be
leaving before we get there.  Maybe
one day our paths will cross again.

It is time for food!!  We head home and
make a good lunch and just enjoy it.
We have decided that we need to
move our rig to the front of the
camping area.  We won’t have to cross
those 3 washes to get out in the
morning.  We are headed to
Ehrenberg and Colorado River Oasis
tomorrow for 5 days.  We will have full
hookups and maybe we will be able to
clean up the motor home.  Being out in
the desert with the sand, dirt and the
wind has just got the inside of the rig
so dirty and dusty.

About 4pm we went to the Oasis Book
Store. Need to get a book and see
what the bookstore is all about.  The
owner of the bookstore is well known
and we have been

We got ready and move to the front of
the campground, just before the going
on to the road.  We get to watch I-10
traffic and it is interesting  to see all
the truck and the cars going by.
Danny thinks there are about 300 big
trucks an hour going by.  Just fun to
watch them go by with all their lights
and stuff.  The best lighted ones are
the semis that  transport cars.

The wind is blowing so the rig is rockin
and rollin but it isn’t too bad.  We have
no electric so no TV or anything so we
played 4 games of rummy and Danny
won 3.
Goodnight from Quartzsite, AZ.

Wed. Jan. 20, 2010
MOVING DAY!!!  Up and atem we gotta
get this rig moving toward Ehrenberg,
AZ.  Well, it is only 17 miles but it is still
moving.

We got to Ehrenberg about 10:45am.
Checked in and got our site.  They
gave us site #33 but as we pulled in
someone was already in that site so
Danny pulled into #19 and I went to the
office to change the number.   Funny
how that works, had to do it last time
we were here – oh well.

Page 70

We just took our time setting up and
cleaning things.  Everything is so dusty
from being in the desert.  Didn’t do
much today except move.  Tonight
watched TV since we are connected to
cable here.
Good night from Ehrenberg, AZ.
Thur. Jan 21, 2010 – Well today we
have to go to Parker, AZ again and it is
suppose to rain more than what it is
right now.  We decided to go early this
morning so that we can get home
before the storm.

Went to the bank, and then we
stopped at KFC for lunch.  MISTAKE!!
First of all the ceiling was falling in from
the rain and the food was not very
good.  It was also an A&W but they
were OUT of A&W Root Beer.  I guess
it is just our timing when we go to
Parker.

After we ate we went to WalMart of get
some groceries.  Don’t need much but
since we are here and it is less
expensive than Blythe we just pick up a
few things and take our time and look
around.

When we get ready to leave it is
raining and the sky is dark and cloudy
and stormy.  It rained most of the way
home. Thank goodness it is only 40
miles away.  The washes are not full
but they have water standing in them.
Just want to get home safe and sound
and get in a nice, dry motor home.

We are home.  As we came into
Ehrenberg there was one wash that
was running water over the highway.
Glad we went early and got back early.

WOW, the rain has reached us as well
as the wind.  This rig is really rockin
and rollin and the rain is pounding.
About 6:30pm we lost electricity and
then it got dark so off to bed we go.  I
felt like I was back dry camping again.
Oh well, we are dry and warm.

Goodnight from rainy Ehrenberg.

Fri. Jan. 22, 2010
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEIGH.  Can’t
believe you are 18.  Hope you have a
wonderful day sweetie!

We have electricity this morning so
plug in that coffee pot!  We have to go
to Blythe today and pick a prescription
for Danny.  Not far to go only 10 miles.
It isn’t raining so it will be an OK trip.

After a nice breakfast we headed to
Blythe, CA.  It is so weird because we
left at 10:20am Arizona time and got to
Blythe  10:00am California time. There
is an hour difference.  My poor cell
phone can’t keep up with the time
change.  We had lunch at

Page 71

Carl’s Jr. and then went to Albertson’s
to pick up a couple of things we forgot
at WalMart  and we drove around
Blythe just to see something other than
the main road we always come in on.
Wow, there are some nice buildings off
the main road.

Nothing happening so we head back to
Ehrenberg, AZ.  Once we got back we
had to clean the oven.  The other day I
made an apple pie and the darn thing
boiled over and made a mess.  When I
looked in the oven I realized the
“makeshift” rack had rubbed off and
left debris in the bottom of the oven.
Well, since I have the vacuum out
might as well do the entire house.
Boy, that wears me out.  Thank gosh
for my vacuum but it is from 1987.
Neither of us is hungry so we are just
going to make due tonight and work on
the computer since we can.
As we work on the computers we are
watching a special about Fresno and
the “Bulldog gang”.  Wow, it is scary.

It is getting late and I have to make
coffee for the morning and do a couple
of things around here.  Tomorrow we
are going to stay here and get things
done so that we can be ready to move
on Monday.  Can’t believe it is time to
head to Yuma and then California.
Seems like we just got here.  Our plans
are a little hit and miss when we leave
here.  We have 3 reservations that
amounts to 5 weeks and that is all we
know about what we are going to do.
Think tomorrow we will work on figuring
out what we might be going to do and
where we might be going.

Goodnight from Ehrenberg, AZ.

Sat. Jan. 24, 2010
Today was one of those days that just
hung out at the motor home and did
stuff and mostly nothing.  Seems like
for the last few months we end up
having to do stuff everyday or go
someplace and so it was nice just the
“hang out” with no bad weather out
there.

Today was Ashley and Ricky’s
wedding.  Looked on the internet for
the Honolulu web cam so I could feel
like I was close to the wedding.

Rileigh texted me last night and said
she and Kyle got engaged.  Really no
surprise.  She did promise Gma that
she was going to college.  I asked her
if she would like my wedding ring for
hers when they got married.  She
sounded excited about receiving it.
She is such a sweet lady.  Can’t
believe she is 18!!!

After dinner we went to the clubhouse
for Karaoke and dancing.  More
Karaoke than dancing.  The people
who were singing Karaoke were pretty
good.  Joe was good even though he
had just started getting up and singing
and Cathy sounded just like Patsy
Cline.  Could have sat and listened to
her all night – she was really a good
singer.

We left there about 9:00pm and just
walked home slow and enjoyed the
fresh air.

Not much going on – Goodnight from
Ehrenberg.

Sun. Jan. 25, 2010
Today after breakfast we went into
Quartzsite again.  Today is the last day
for the “Big Tent”  but my gosh there
were still zillions of people wandering
around.  Danny found the “quick
connect” for the hoses so we bought 3
and then just walked around the tent.
It was good because there wasn’t too
many people wandering

around.  We tasted the chocolate
again.  Gosh the white chocolate was
great, I think it was my favorite.  Just
couldn’t justify spending $10.00 for
cocoa.

We even applied for a camp host job
at Hume Lake for this summer.  Nope,
we weren’t going to be a camp host for
awhile but this was a good deal.  I will
be working and Danny will be fishing!
It is a paid job – we will see what the
manager says tomorrow when he calls
in the next two or three days.  We will
be close to family and that will be a
good thing.  Maybe I can get my
“family fix” throughout the summer.  If
we do get this job and take it we will
have to purchase an external
generator or maybe even get solar.
We will just have to see.  The campsite
has water and sewer but no electric so
we can use the generator.

When we got back from Quartzsite we
went to do the laundry and watch the
football playoffs. That is about all we
have done today.
Tomorrow we are moving to Yuma.
Ted called and let us know where we
can go and camp free in Yuma.  We
will be there a few days and then head
towards Ramona.

Gonna say goodnight from Colorado
River Oasis, Ehrenberg.
