Page 7 We had to go to town and Danny wanted to get something to eat. Where to go? Not another Mexican Restaurant – please. We look in our “SLO Dining book” and find a place called “Tanner Jacks”. Never been there, not sure where it is but oh well, we can drive to it and see what we think from the outside. Out book says 2 for 1 up to $15.99. We ask “FIONA” on Danny’s phone and she directs us to Tanner Jacks. It is a cute “Smokin” Steak House. It is all done is old fence slats, with old cowboy pictures and an old chuckwagon, and great old rocking chair – my kind of place. The waitress was great. We told her it was our first time there so she told us about the menue. Known for their smoked tri tip and ribs, but she says, everything is great. We finally order the tri tip with garlic mashed potatoes and beans and I have ribs. I know everyone, I never order ribs but need to try different things. They brought homemade rolls, yummy with their special “dippin” sauce. One was mango with habenero peppers, celantro, and their own bar-b-que sauce. Of course we try them all. The rolls were great by themselves and super with the dipping sauce. Out salad was a wedge with homemake thousand island for Danny and homemade ranch for me. Need I say, it was really good. When dinner came we were already kind of full but it looked great. Danny had a great big piece of tri tip and I had plenty of ribs with sweet potato fries. All was so good and the service was great. We never would have tried this place if we hadn’t bought the “dining book”. We are both so glad that we did buy the book because we have been able to try many different restaurants in the area that we would not have tried. We loved Louisa’s Café, Apple Farm, and Tanner Jacks, and the Station Restaurant. Many others we liked a lot but these few really stand out. We ended up bringing two boxes home, enough for 2 more meals, at least. After dinner we drove around a little and talked about what we wanted to do in the next 10 years and went to the Pier. We did want to walk to the end but it was kind of cold so we just came home. I read the rest of my book and Danny watched a movie on the computer and of course, we worked on our FaceBook FarmTown and FarmVille. A wonderful day again . Page 8 It is 11:30pm, not really tired since I drank 4 glasses of ice tea at dinner. We have gone to drinking “decalf” coffee and tea, but the tea tasted so good. Must close this page of our adventure and try to get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow I guess we will have to do some laundry but not much else. Sat. and Sunday will be relaxing so we can be ready to travel on Monday. This is a great adventure and it finally feels like we are really going to go someplace. Sweet dreams. http://www.camphostcouple.com |
| . We walked back to the motor home and have a discussion about the “flat rolled up hose” that we bought. It doesn’t work the way Danny thought it would and it isn’t the way he wants it to be. I figured out how it is suppose to work but not to Danny’s liking. He still wants to get another 6 foot hose to hooked to the motor home. OK, he is in charge of outside stuff so I relinquish and we will do it his way. No problem, no arguing, just discussion. That’s the way I like it – just discussion and listening to the other person. We do that well. Gosh I love this guy. He truly is the “love of my life”. We were so lucky to find each other. This afternoon we relaxed. Danny did work on the satellite but to no avail. Hopefully tomorrow he will get it set and we can have TV for a couple of nights. We leave here Monday, so I could watch some football on Sunday. We will see what happens. |
It is about 8:45am and we decided to walk to the Kiosk and see if someone is there and talk to them about the site problem Actually there is no problem, but if someone comes in today with reservations for site #17 we will have to move. It would just be a mess. Want to get this settled. The young man at the Kiosk said the camper in #18 is leaving and then we can move to site #18. Danny asked him if we could just stay in #17. We like it and we wouldn’t have to move. He informs us that that is no problem |
| Oh what a beautiful day. It is so clear, a little chilly but nice and calm. We take a cup of coffee outside and just enjoy the sounds of nature. The birds are really singing and the ducks are in the creek, and there is a white egret sitting on a branch down the creek. |
