| Page 82 Thur. Feb. 11, 2010 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL. I can’t believe you are 12 years old already. Today was a drive around town kind of day. This is just a nice resort to hang out at and not drive many places. We checked out some of the local streets to see what the town and its areas and had a burger at McDonalds then came home and relaxed, watched some TV and that was our day here at Ramona Canyon Resort. About 2pm we took the computers to the clubhouse so we could get on the internet. Thank goodness for our Verizon MIFI. We stayed there for about 2 hours just playing on the computer. It is very slow but at least we are able to get on. Did call Daniel about 4pm and wished him a Happy Birthday. Just love talking to my grandkids and finding out what they are doing. Love you guys. Goodnight from Ramona, CA. Fri. Feb. 12, 2010 – Today we stayed at the RV park and worked around the motor home and the cleaned out the car trunk. We have been saying we will do that but it never gets done. It wasn’t that much to do and it didn’t take us very long. Sure glad we got that part done. After we finished we sat outside and enjoyed the sun. About 3pm we came to the clubhouse. Danny brought the computer and worked on it for a while and I got a book and just sat and read it. Great day! At 6pm they had a WII bowling tournament here at the clubhouse. We weren’t going to sign up for it but we did and really enjoyed ourselves. We bowled 3 games. There were 4 teams. We didn’t do very well the first game but we did get better. The last game we bowled was for a spot in the playoffs. Darn, I bowled a 143, Danny bowled a 179 and Jean bowled a 181. She got to bowl in the finals. Danny was so darn close. He came from the bottom (losing team) to the top. It was really fun. We went home and tried to watch the Opening Ceramony but it got so late and I got so tired. Goodnight from Ramona, CA Sat. Feb. 13, 2010 – Went to the club house and listened to Phyllis and her husband and friend “jam” with their guitars. They are pretty good. At 7:00pm we came back to the Club House and listened to Nickel entertain. She is really good and sang for about 2 hours. Page 83 Sun. Feb. 14, 2010 –Went to dinner at Club House. Ham, baked potatoes, pot luck Mon. Feb. 15, 2010 - This morning we are off to San Diego. We are just going to walk around and enjoy the sights. We have nothing planned. We pulled into “Old Town San Diego”. Checked out the trolley and tours and decided they were kind of expensive. Oh well we can just walk around. Spoke to a really nice lady named Barbie, at the information desk. We ended up being her “guests” on the trolley tour. She went above and beyond customer service. Thanks Barbie. We took the tour for 2 hours around San Diego and found some places we would like to go back to. Our tour guide was Jim and he was so knowlegable of San Diego. Really enjoyed the trip. Thanks Jim. After the tour we drove to Seaport Village and found a parking spot and walked to the end of the street. We must have looked lost because a young man driving a “Pedicab” came by and asked us where we were headed and said it was a block away and he would give us a free ride. WOW, people in San Diego have been so nice and kind. We found “Marion’s Fish Market” and had some lunch, fish and chips. We got a “bucket” of fish and fries and ate out on the patio. After lunch we walked to the USS Midway park, took photos and just enjoyed the park, the statue of the sailor kissing the nurse after his return from WWII, and Bob Hope entertaining the troops. Brought back memories when Tom was in Viet Nam and stood in line to see Bob Hope and I found him in the crowed when they showed it on TV. He and his friends made a sign and held it up. And also reminded me of Dad, he wouldn’t stand in line to see Bob Hope. The line was way too long. After spending time at the USS Midway, we walked to the Meritime Museum and looked around, ate an early dinner at Anthony’s fish patio, mmmmm good. Walked and watched Carnival Cruise ship “Spirit” depart and then 20 minutes later watched the “Zaandam” leave the harbor. We headed home about 6:30pm and about 7:00pm we found a Costco and Home Depot. We had to stop, Danny needed a quick connect for the hose and we “needed” a hot dog from Costco. We walked around the store for a little while and then headed back to Ramona. After we got home we watched some Olympics and hit the bed-it was a big, long day and I am sooo tired. We really enjoyed our day in San Diego. Goodnight from two very tired people in Ramona, CA Tue. Feb. 16, 2010 - Today is spent at the RV park. We are recuperating from the big day yesterday. San Diego is really a nice place to visit Page 84 After watching Dr. Oz and listening to how we can lose 100 pounds we ate lunch and then went to the clubhouse to use the computers. Had to pay bills and figure our finances. Gosh I like it so much better when we can get on the computer at the rig and get cell phone service. Hopefully we wlll be able to get internet and cell phone service at the RV park in Menifee. There are two(2) boxes of “give away food” here at the clubhouse so we took some of the stuff that we could use and went back to the rig. On our way back to the rig we stopped at the office to get our mail and the activity sheet for the week – Bingo on Tuesday, movie on Wed., WII bowling on Fri. with beans and ham, and potluck and music on Sat. Danny got mail from Daniel. He was so surprised and so happy. In the envelope, addressed by Daniel, was a “handmade card wallet”. Daniel, what a great idea and great job. Danny was so pleased that you thought of him. You made Grandpa Danny really happy. Here it is 6:30pm and we are playing bingo – 5 cards, 10 games, 8 for gifts and 2 for cash. We won’t win anything but it will be fun. WOW, I won a small tote bag, Danny won a red baseball cap, and then I won $7.50!! The last game was total cover the card. I just need one more number, so does Danny. Think they will call it – BINGO, BINGO, BINGO, guess G40 was THE NUMBER!! Danny, Mike and myself each got $7.00 each. Great fun evening with great company. We are truly enjoying our stay here at Ramona Canyon Resort. The people are great, lots of fun activities. Only thing bad about this park is no cell service or internet from your rig. Oh well, we enjoy going to the clubhouse. Goodnight from the Friendly RV Resort in Ramona. Lynda click on this link to see our page http://www.camphostcouple.com |
