| Mon. Mar. 15, 2010 - Today after we got up “late” we went to Pismo Beach and took my prescriptions in to Rite Aid and then we had to go to the bank. Got all of our stuff done here in Pismo Beach. We came back to the motor home and played on the computer. We had no intentions of playing late, Steph and family will be here early, but it is now midnight and we are just going to bed. I know Steph well enough to know that she will leave Tulare very early and get here in time for breakfast. Gosh I need to get to sleep. Goodnight from Ocean Canyon RV Park. Tue. Mar. 16, 2010 – Rileigh texted me at 7am. Guess we had better get up since they will be here pretty soon! Oh I wish I would have gone to bed earlier last night!! Page 102 Here they are – 8:30am! Made a little scrambled eggs and potatoes and toast and of course coffee. Met Kyle for the first time. I got my Rileigh hugs and kisses. Gosh I miss those guys. . Sure do wish Beau was here but I also hope he is having a great time. We went to the San Luis Pier and fished. Kyle, Brian and Danny fished and didn’t even get a bite. They did get hot since the sun was really shinning on them. After the fishing we went to the beach and Ri and Kyle played in the water. They weren’t going to get wet but they ended up falling in the water. They seemed to have had a good time. That is all that matters. Steph and Brian walked a little on the beach and Danny sat in the sand and watched. We headed home and were going to eat some lunch and go to the pool and spa. We enjoyed our sandwiches and then headed to the pool. Oh no, they are painting the deck and it will be off limits for 24 hours. Darn. We went to the Club House and played pool, ping pong and had a great time. We all enjoyed the time. We came back to the motor home and vegged out for a little while and then Steph and Brian said they had to leave. I think they were really getting tired. It was about 4pm when they left. They have been up for a very long time, I thank them so very much for coming to visit. I loved seeing them and spending time with them and of course, meeting Kyle. After they left we took a drive to cool off. It got so hot here in Avila about 3pm. Came home, made Danny some beans and hot dogs and played on the computer and watched a little TV. It is 11pm and time to get some sleep. Goodnight from Avila Beach. Wed. Mar.17, 2010 – Happy St. Patty’s Day. Mom always said we were IRISH so we had to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Thank you Debbie for reminding me. Today after we got up we went over to the pool and spa. Whoa!!! The pool was chilly and the spa was HOT!!!. Met some nice ladies, sisters, from Fresno. Enjoyed our visit with them. Page 103 Had to go to bank, Costco and Scolari’s Market, they had a sale on chicken breasts – today was the last day. Hot dogs at Costco, ate around Costco and then made our small purchase and then headed home. Had a small dinner. We are still full from “eating” at Costco. We bought some liquid stuff at Costco that will help us lose weight. We are going to try it and see how it works. It is suppose to curb my appitite – seems to work so far. Think it is just in my mind but if it works, who cares if it is just in my mind. HUMM twice a day we are suppose to take this liquid. Debbie, the saleslady at Costco, gave us our first ounce so we could get started. She has lost 91 pounds over 2 years – I’m all for that! We will see. Good night from Avila Beach. Thur. Mar. 18, 2010 – Hmm, can’t remember what we did today. Oh yes, I remember we went to the Farmer’s Market in San Luis Obispo. We had to go to Pismo Beach and pick up my prescription and then we went to San Luis Obispo. What a great Farmer’s Market. Lots of people. Well, it didn’t seem like as many as I remember from when we went this summer. We ate at McLintocks as usual. We had our regular “#1 Barnyard”. The servers are fun to watch and listen to and the food is great. The #1 comes with ½ chicken, beans, garlic bread, lots and lots of napkins. Danny always gets extra onions and peppers. We found a table to sit at. This is not usual because they are almost always full. We enjoyed our meal and then walked thru the market area, watched some of the entertainers and then went back to the car and came back to Avila. Tomorrow is moving day. Good night from Avila Beach and SLO Farmers Market. Fri., Mar. 19, 2010 – MOVING Day. We are going to take our time and get packed up – wow, Danny is ready to move and he is rushing and I am getting behind. Oh well, will get this all done and be ready in a few minutes. We have to drive from Avila Beach to Sunset Beach – 162 miles. We leave about 11am and head North to Monterey, Carmel and Sunset Beach State Park. I have never been here before so this will be fun. We take our time driving. We stopped at McDonalds and had our “cheap” lunch. While we were there we met Jim and Mary Jo. They are “workkampers” and they were headed to Washington State to work. We talked about camp hosting and where we had spent the winter. It was fun and informative. They told us about ‘workkampers” and we told them about camp hosting for the State of California. Thanks for sharing Jim and Mary Jo. We turned off 101 and there it was the “Giant Artichoke” – the best French fried artichokes anywhere. Gosh it has been years since I was here. My dad always stopped Page 104 here on the way to Monterey to get clam chowder at “Mike’s” on the Monterey Pier. There was lots of traffic and the parking lot was not that large so I told Danny we could just go on. He was willing to find a space to park but I can do without the calories! We pulled into Sunset Beach State Park, site #80. It is really nice here, lots of trees and grass. We have no hook ups so it will be early to bed at night. The sun has gone down and it is cold outside. Goodnight from Sunset Beach. Sat. Mar. 20, 2010 – Not going to do much today - just hang out here at the park. Well, Danny suggested we go to Montery and Carmel just to see them. They are only 40+ miles away. Off we head, but first we drive to Sunset State Beach beach. It is a long beach with quit a few people on the beach. It is a really nice, clean beach. Ok, off we head toward Monterey. WOW, Danny has never been on the Monterey Wharf. This will be a first. We found a parking space. Things have changed since the last time I was in Monterery. We walked to the Wharf and sampled the clam chowder they were offering at all the restaurants. MM M, I liked the clam chowder from the first restaurant to offer a sample. The server said their clam chowder was $1.50 a bowl more than any one else but it was the best! It was good but we decided to keep on going. Mike’s isn’t there anymore and we did stop to have a sample but the server was not very nice so we just kept on going. We ended up down at the end of the Wharf at a restaurant that offered “every table has oceanview” and great clam chowder. Had a bowl of clam chowder, Danny had fish and chips. They were soooo good. Loved the clam chowder and it had great atmosphere and wonderful view. Watched the boats going and coming and the harbor seals. Enjoyed out lunch. After lunch we walked over to the Maritime Museum and walked thru the part that wasn’t closed for renovation and watched a movie on the history of Monterey. It was great. When we left there we headed towards Carmel. We found a parking space right at the beach and headed out towards the water. I have never been to the beach here in Carmel and what a great beach it was. There were tons of people, a wedding with the groom and his attendants in full dress Marine uniforms. Very nice and what a great place for a wedding. We walked on the beach for about an hour and then headed back to the car to go home. It was getting late and we were tired. Page 105 We got home and had some dinner. We bar-b-qued a chicken breast, and had roasted veggies, and a salad. All very tasty but whoa it is getting cold outside so when we finished eating we came in the house, closed the windows, cleaned up the dishes and went to bed. Played 4 games of rummy and Danny won all 4 of them. Well last night I won all 4 games. Goodnight from Sunset Beach. Sun. Mar. 21, 2010 – Well we weren’t going to go anyplace but Danny found that Santa Cruz and New Brighton Beach was only 17 miles from Sunset Beach so off we go. It has been years and years since I have been to Santa Cruz. Have only been to Santa Cruz twice in my life. The first time was July 22, 1967 – mine and Tom’s honeymoon. The “Dream Inn” is still there. On our way to Santa Cruz we drove into New Brighton State Beach. We will be going there tomorrow and wanted to see what it was like and how big the sites are. Can’t remember what site we have but I do remember that when I changed the reservations we go a “hook up” site. We will find out tomorrow. It is a beautiful park. Am anxious to get here tomorrow. Danny parked the car out on the Santa Cruz pier and we walked around the pier just looking and the restaurants and the shops and watching the people and we took it slow and easy – no reason to rush. Danny wanted to fish off the pier but everyone said nothing was biting and it was COLD out on the pier. The wind was blowing pretty good out at the end of the pier. Danny decided to show me a great place to camp so off we went on a drive. We went thru some great small towns and beautiful houses. It is kind of up in the Santa Cruz mountains. Finally we got here to – Big Basin Campgrounds. WOW what a wonderful campground. I don’t think bringing the motor home here is a very good idea but if we camped in a tent it would be wonderful. It is so quiet and peaceful. We walked around the park for a little while and just enjoyed mother nature at here best. It seemed like it took so long to get there and we got back to the motor home so fast. It always seems that way – when you are going someplace it takes forever to get there and when you leave it takes no time to get back home. When we got back home we bar-b-qued chicken and roasted veggies and had salad outside. It was wonderful but then it got cold and into the house we came. Page. 106 Goodnight from our last night at Sunset Beach. Mon. Mar. 22, 2010 – Moving Day again. We got up and had a bowl of cereal and packed up. Not much to do outside so Danny helped me with the inside. We are ready to go. It is only about 17 miles so it won’t take long. Danny thought we should take Road 129 but when we got to the turn off the sign said “one lane road” so we decided not to do that and just take 101 to New Brighton Beach. We arrived about 12 noon and they said we couldn’t come in yet. We had to wait about 30 minutes to make sure the people in our site were gone. We drove towards town and found an apartment complex with a great yard right off the main street. Danny parked the motor home on the street, I made sandwiches and we sat on the grass while we ate and enjoyed the great weather and location. After lunch we walked to the end of the street and found the church parking lot they said we could turn around in. We are now headed to the State Park. We get to our site #49 and it has water and electric hook ups. We set up the rig and we are in. It is a beautiful park. After getting set up we take a walk towards the ocean. We are on a cliff and there is a walkway to the beach but it is a long way down there. We decided not to go so late in the day. Tomorrow we are going to Santa Cruz beach so we just walked around the park and enjoyed mother nature. There are lots of campers here. We had the makings of taco’s for dinner but the tortilla’s weren’t all that good so we just ate the chicken mixture. It was good but I like my tacos better. We are enjoying the TV. Had to call the company this afternoon and let them know we weren’t getting ABC,CBS, or NBC. Seems the computer cancelled our subscription because Chase sent me a new ATM card and my other one expired. It could take 30 minutes to 24 hours to get service. WOW, it isn’t even 30 minutes and we are fixed up. Yipee, I can watch Dancing With the Stars, first night! It will be nice to have TV, lights, and computers for 4 nights. OK, I am done working on the computer and it is now 11:30pm. Time for bed. Goodnight from beautiful New Brighton State Beach. Lynda click on this link to see our page http://www.camphostcouple.com >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tue. Mar. 23, 2010 – Boy oh boy, when I stay up til 11:30pm it is hard to get going the next day. SOOOO, today was a “do nothing much” day. Page 107 Drank a cup of coffee outside this morning then made some breakfast. It was one of those days that Danny wanted oatmeal and toast and I wanted scrambled eggs – so did both. Danny said his was really good but I know that mine tasted great. Cleaned up the kitchen, made some corn salsa to have with our chicken dinner later on today. Just laid around and rested. I did go outside about 1:30pm and sat in my lawn chair and read my book. The sun was out and it was great. I think I read a couple of pages and then fell asleep. It was so nice. Last night we sent a note to Ranger Dale and told him we would not be able to be camp hosts at Morro Bay this summer. He sent an email back and said it was OK, there were people clamoring to become camp hosts in Morro Bay. We will miss Morro Bay and the other camp hosts but this is the best decision. We have so many things going on in May and June. We talked about going to Tulare from Isleton for Easter Sunday and be at Sissy’s picnic. If things go financially ok we might just drive down for the day. Time will tell. I made an early dinner, late lunch of chicken breast, roasted veggies and salad and corn salsa. It was really good. We ate it outside on the picnic table. It helps when we eat a little early because we can eat outside and it isn’t so cold. Came in after eating, cleaned up the kitchen, got on the computer and played on Farmville for a little while and then went to work on finding where we would be going when we leave Morgan Hill. Got is booked. Who would have thought that I would be staying at San Luis Reservoir!! I was there before there was water out there! Think it will be a good place for 3 nights. They have full hook ups!! That means Danny can set up the satellite and I can watch Dancing With the Stars! Danny is talking about fishing for the 3 days we are there. That just means I can read my books. Called Debbie and made sure she was OK and the boys had a good time camping last weekend. Talked to Steph today. All is well at the Wrights and Beau’s birthday is tomorrow. Got to remember to call him in the morning. I put a note on my frig door so I won’t forget! Early Happy 12th Birthday Beau!! Well, now it is time to watch a little movie and enjoy the rest of the evening. Tomorrow we have to go and do laundry and hopefully we can go to the beach for an hour or so. Danny wants to go to the “Surfing Museum” tomorrow. That should be nice. Going to watch a movie and just veg out some more! Gosh, you can do that when you are retired. Page 108 Goodnight from beautiful New Brighton Beach. Wed. Mar. 24, 2010 – Happy Birthday Beau. WOW 12 years old!! Can’t believe it. No much happening today. We had to go to Rite Aid and get our prescriptions. So thankful they are all over. Makes traveling easier when all we have to do is go to Rite Aid and we are in their computer. After going to Rite Aid we had KFC. We shared a chicken strip meal. We drove and found the Costco here. It is laid out just like the one in San Bernardino. Got a couple of things we needed. I was happy, they have San Francisco French Roast coffee beans – decaf. Of course we bought one bag. After that we went to the Pier and Danny was going to fish but oh my gosh, the wind would have blown him in the ocean!! So we drove up on the bluff and got a great parking spot and watched the hundred of surfers. It is a wonder they don’t run into each other out there on the water. We hung out on the bluff and people watched and surfer watched for about an hour. Met a man from Vancouver, BC. He comes to Santa Cruz every winter for 4 months. Has family here. We came home and closed up the motor home. It was really cold. When we left we opened all the window and vents to get air – we got lots of cold air. Closed the windows and turned on the heater. Gosh I hate being cold! With the heater on it will be too hot pretty soon! We had sandwiches for lunch. At Costco we bought some peppered turkey for sandwiches. They were pretty good. After being gone all day we usually have an easy dinner. Thank goodness Danny is so easy to feed. I did find some brownie mix in the cabinet when I was cleaning them out so I made some brownies while we were eating. They we “low fat” brownies made with yogurt. They taste pretty good. After playing on our Farmville we closed up and went to bed. Well first, we played 3 games of rummy. I lost all 3 last night so hopefully I can redeem myself. HA, not really. I lost 3 of 4! Goodnight from Santa Cruz and Brighton Beach. Thur. Mar. 25, 2010 – Happy Thursday from Brighton Beach. It rained most of the night last night. Sounded like lots of rain but I think the big drops were coming off the big tree that we are kind of under. Page 109 The air is so clean with all the trees and then you have some rain. WOW, you can breath fresh, clean air. It is really nice here. Made biscuits and gravy for breakfast today. It has been a long time since I did that. It was really enjoyed by Danny but he thinks with biscuits and gravy you need to have fried taters!! Well, he thinks that but I don’t cook that!! I finished cleaning up the motor coach. I re-arranged the cabinets. It takes living in the coach for a few months before you can get stuff put away in the right place. It is now better than it was but not quit right yet – just give me a couple more months! After cleaning and throwing stuff out we had to go to Rite Aid and pick up Danny’s prescriptions, and do laundry. Just can’t put it off any longer! Well, there is a laundry across the street from Rite Aid and a Taco Bell!. Nothing like doing laundry and getting lunch at the same time! Well one of Danny’s prescriptions won’t be ready until tomorrow. We told them we had to leave about 11am so they said it would be ready by 10am tomorrow. We will just have everything ready to travel and then pop into town and pick up the prescription. After laundry we took a ride around Aptos. It is a neat little town. We found Seacliff State Beach. A great place to camp right on the edge of the ocean. Kind of like Emma Woods but here they have ½ of the sites with full hook ups. We tried to make reservations here before we made the one for New Brighton but it was full. It was pretty full today too. Think it would be really hard to get reservations at Seacliff. It is well worth a try though. We drove over to the Visitors Center and read some history on the area. The Cement Ship that is sunk at the end of the pier is interesting. In 1920’s to 1932 it was a amusement ship with dancing, dining and fishing. What an interesting story. The wind was blowing but we walked out to the end of the pier anyway. I just had to see the ship in person. It is broken in 2 places now so you can’t walk out on it. Danny said he remembered walking out on it in the 1980’s and even fishing off the side of the ship. Looking at it has you just thinking about the music, dancing, and dining in years past. Ted called while we were on the pier and wondered where in the world we were. Danny spoke to him for a while and informed him that we would not be hosting in Morro Bay this summer. It was hard to tell Ted and Mimi that we weren’t going to be there with them in Morro Bay. It was a hard decision not to host in Morro Bay because of our great friendship with Ted and Mimi. Hopefully one of these days we will be able to host together again. We came home, again tonight we had sandwiches for dinner, got on the computer and now it is time to watch a little TV and get some sleep. The TV is doing funny things, Page 109 well, it really isn’t the TV it is the dish. Too many clouds, trees or something in the air to block our reception. Oh well, we will enjoy some TV. Tomorrow we are headed to Morgan Hill, to a Thousand Trails park. We will be there for 2 nights and 3 days. We have to go listen to a sales seminar and then we get to stay there for free. Will say goodnight one more time from Brighton Beach. Fri. Mar. 26, 2010 – Moving day! We have really enjoyed our days at Brighton Beach and the surrounding area. This is one State Campground I would like to come back to. It has been so peaceful. Moving to “Thousand Trails” park in Morgan Hill. I think it is only about an hour from here. Should be an easy trip. We’re off and it is easy travel straight up 101. There is lots of traffic going south – glad we are headed north! We just passed the Outlet Mall, Danny thinks I’d better call and get directions. We don’t have the exact address so we are flying in the dark! I got directions and we would never have found this place. It is in the foothills and back. The location is kind of like Wilderness Lakes in Menefee. We are signed in and found a site #53 and get set up. We have water and electric and there is a sewer dump close. Not many campers right now, but it is Friday so they will be coming in. We are scheduled for a Thousand Trails seminar with Alisha tomorrow at 9:00am. We will see what they have to offer. Danny worked and worked with the dish. Thinks there are way too many trees and interferences. He talked to another camper who is trying to set up his dish and having the same problems. Danny finally got the 110 so we will get some TV. Oh well, I think we will go to the clubhouse and watch “Dancing with the Stars”! LOL Not much happening on moving day. We are now completely set up and enjoying our stay. Goodnight from TT Morgan Hill. Sat. Mar. 27, 2010 – Early up – we have an appointment to go to the seminar at 9:00am. Grab a cup of coffee and we are off. Page 110 Meet Alisha and some of the other folks in the office. Very nice people. We sit thru the seminar and then we tour the “cabins”. I really liked the one we saw. I could stay here for a week. Just kind of rustic with modern facilities. Well, we bought a Thousand Trails membership. They have lots of parks and places where we can go and not pay anything or just $10.00 a night. This membership will give us some places that our Western Horizon doesn’t have. Looks like we can travel around the country pretty easy now. After our meeting we came home and had lunch. It is such a beautiful day to enjoy our lunch outside and discuss what we have just done and how it is going to benefit us. I find the directions to the Catholic Church and Mass tonight is 5:30pm so we are off to make sure we can find it. Thanks Danny for understanding me. We found the church and then drove around Morgan Hill just a little, came back and I was really tired so laid down for about an hour and fell asleep. So much for reading my book! Time to go to church. It seems to be an older church, it has a school, rectory and some extra buildings. It is in a kind of out of the way place – well, for someone who isn’t familiar with the area it seems out of the way. Kind of in a housing area. Guess it really isn’t “out of the way” there are lots of people here tonight. It is Palm Sunday and the reading are kind of long but I do love them. Danny meets me in the parking lot after Mass and we drive to WalMart, he found it when I was in church, and get some ice and pastrami. Our staples! LOL. We drive back to the RV Resort thru downtown. It has a really nice downtown, lots of banks and restaurants. Hmm, smells good, got to get back home and get some dinner. Easy dinner tonight, hash browns, eggs, soy bacon, pastrami and toast. UMMM it is good. Play on the computer just a little and now it is time to get some sleep. I don’t want ot be as tired as I was today! It is suppose to be nice tomorrow, sounds like a lawn chair and book outside kind of day. Goodnight from one of our new RV Resorts, Morgan Hill. Lynda click on this link to see our page http://www.camphostcouple.com >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sun. Mar. 28, 2010 – Today we were suppose to go to the State Park at San Luis Dam but with our new membership we will be staying here until Tues. and then we are heading towards Isleton. We will make a reservation to stay at Turtle Beach campground in Manteca. Think we will be there Tues. and Wed. It will make the drive to Isleton easier. Page 112 It is time for a cup of coffee and morning conversation with my love. Gosh I love him and enjoy his company and just being together. It was just the kind of day where we just sat outside in the sun, worked on the computer and did nothing except enjoy the area. We walked to the Clubhouse where they have a “family section” and an “adult only section”, which is nice for everyone. Both sections have the same thing except the big screen TV. We walked around the pool area, wow, it is a great huge pool. Too bad it doesn’t open until May 1, 2010. Oh well, it is too cold to get in anyway. We are here for 2 more nights. Tomorrow we will have to go to the office and get our tag on our car changed for the new dates. We looked at the computer and our new books and decided we would go to Manteca and stay at Thousand Trails Turtle Beach Fish Camp for two nights. I think it is a very small RV park, not a resort, but it is on our way to Isleton and there are banks for us to use before we leave for Isleton. Had a great day with my love. Goodnight from Morgan Hill. Mon. Mar. 29, 2010 – After a great cup of coffee and watching a great movie we got up and we walked to the sales office so we can get the paperwork with the new departure date. Alisha was busy so we talked with Dan. We asked the questions that we needed to, got our new departure paper, and then he showed us how to book our future reservations on the computer. He and Kim booked our 2 nights in Turtle Beach Fish Camp. They keep telling us that it is a very small park and not much there except the river for fishing. Well, that is what we are going there for. Danny wants to fish. What they showed us on the computer doesn’t work, probably because they have our email address wrong. Danny went into the computer and made us another email address with the address they wrote wrong. Still haven’t gotten the reservations but I do have a conformation number. We had to go to town and get a loaf of bread and some pastrami. They have a Super WalMart here and we can get the pastrami that Danny likes. Not much else needed. We have plenty of stuff that just needs to be used. Page 113 Came back to the rig and began getting read to move. Tomorrow is moving day. We worked on the computer for a while and then went to bed. Goodnight from Morgan Hill – one more time. Tue. Mar.30, 2010 – Moving Day. It has rained all night. Thank goodness Danny put our chairs in the car so they wouldn’t be all wet. He is really a great guy and takes care of everything- including me. MMM, so glad to be part of his life. Want it to last 50 years! Danny requested biscuits and gravy for breakfast – no problem. We enjoyed our breakfast and then got ready to go. Today we are taking our time – no rush. We only have about 127 miles to go. We are all packed, and go sit at the dump station waiting for the other people to get done. There is no way to hurry this part of the travel. We take our turn and now we are ready to leave. We are off!! We drove to Casa De Fruita and stopped there. We walked around and looked at the old tractors and other autos and then walked to the fruit stand. Wow, everything looks so good. We bought 2 oranges and some dried fruit. Back to the rig where I make lunch and we just sit in the parking lot and enjoy watching people and eating our lunch. Now we are off and headed to Santa Nella and I-5. Wow, you would think they would do something to this little two lane road. There is some traffic but not too bad. The motor home is working great. OK, up Pacheco Pass we go. It has been many, many years since I have been this way. We use to come this way when I lived at Vandenberg AFB, and we would come to Los Banos to visit mom and dad. Debbie and Stephanie use to say “There is grandpas dam and grandpa’s water”. They knew once we got that far it was a short time before we got to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Here we are at Santa Nella. Wow, this place has grown since the last time I was here. It has really changed since mom and dad moved to Los Banos. There was nothing except some mobil homes and an old bar that served lunch. Time seems to be going faster the older I get! We drive to the Shell station and use our gas gift card. It will just help with getting us a few more gallons of gas. We sit there for awhile until the rain stops. While we are there a 5th wheel pulled into the parking lot and the passenger side of the 5th wheel was pulled back. Oh my gosh, I felt so bad for them. The side paneling was flapping in the wind. Page 114 They stopped there in the parking lot and were trying to fix it before they could go any further. Looked like maybe the driver had cut a corner too close. We have changed our plans and we will just go straight up I-5 instead of Hwy 33 towards Modesto. We are just going to go to the campground. We got Fiona on the cell phone and found our way to the park. It is a really small park. We have water and electric – no sewer. Oh well, we can do that for 2 nights. We found a site #D17. We get the rig level and we set up. First things, Danny hooks up the satellite. He gets it just right and we get many channels – better than Morgan Hill where we only got the 110 satelite. After we got set up we ate a sandwich, I watched Dancing with the Stars and Danny headed out to fish. Gosh I miss him, wish this show would hurry and get over. Ok, its over so I put on my boots and parka and gloves and head for the river where Danny is. Can’t believe how much I miss him. There he is, sitting on the riverbank totally frozen. The wind is blowing and it is cold and damp. I really hoped he would have caught one little fish but no luck. We drove home and I had made coffee – mmm, it tasted so good and was nice and hot. We put on the news and the computers and that is how we have spent the evening. Time to call it a night. Goodnight from Turtle Beach Fish Camp near Manteca, CA. Lynda click on this link to see our page http://www.camphostcouple.com >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tue. Mar. 31, 2010 – What a beautiful day. Happy 4th Anniversary my love. Can’t believe how fast time has flown. Will never forget our lunch on March 31,2006!! I love you with all my heart. After lunch today we took a sightseeing trip to Modesto. I haven’t been there in ages. Danny took me by his old house. It was fun to listen to him with excitement seeing his old house and confusion over how big Modesto has grown. We stopped at the McHenry mansion , by accident, and took a tour. WOW, that is the house I could live in. It is 10,000 square feet and wonderfully refurbished. Had a great docent so it made the tour extra special. After we toured the house we tour the museum. It was built by the McHenry son in honor of his mother. It started out to be a library, upstairs was the adult library and the lower floor was the childrens library. What a great day. Both Danny and I love visiting these old houses and touring museums. We have tried to do that in most of the towns we have been in. Page 115 After our tour we went to the Modesto Mall and walked around. I had never been there and always heard about it and how big it was. It was nice. On our way home there was lightening and some really dark skies. Think we will have rain again tonight. Atleast we didn’t have to fight the rain today while we were sightseeing. Came home and played on the computer and now it is time to get some sleep because tomorrow is moving day. I am glad we don’t have to go very far, only about 40 miles. JT send me an IM on the computer and they are good. They are camping in 3 Rivers for Easter Vacation. The computer is such a good thing especially when you don’t get cell phone service.
